DOURI's Voluntary Work Charter
The present Charter lays down the purpose and organisational guidelines of the Association, and defines the relationship within the Association.
The purpose of DOURI is to investigate, experiment and promote intercultural exchange in the social mosaic of Luxembourg and Europe, throughout creating real and virtual spaces for artistic and sociocultural projects and activities that help with the integration of groups and individuals in their communities. This goes hand by hand to stand for individual’s freedom of expression against all types of discrimination and inequality, and violence, and raising awareness about emerging ecological and environmental issues in our modern world.
Every human being, whether resident in Europe or anywhere else in the world may be volunteers within the Association DOURI. The commitment may be occasional or regular. All volunteers are required to read and respect the present Charter in order to participate in Douri’s activities.
Volunteers are not subjected to any hierarchical relation. Volunteers do not receive orders and cannot be sanctioned. They participate on a voluntary basis: they are always free to terminate it, without any particular procedure or compensation.
However, volunteers must respect all persons who participate in DOURI’s activities; they must observe the statutes and the Charter, as well as all safety standards where applicable.
All volunteers are welcome to reflect on their commitment in order to optimally define its limits and the frame of their action. They have the possibility, at any time, to discuss these questions with the members in order to readjust the commitment if needed.
In order to deepen their commitment, volunteers may become members of the association. This Allows them to take part in the decision-making process of the Association by attending the regular meeting which takes place every three months, as well as the General Assembly which takes place at least once a year. The annual membership fee is EUR 15.
The present Charter is dedicated to explaining the concept of volunteering in DOURI and contains all minimum information necessary to grasp the spirit of DOURI. The articles of Association and all other relevant information are available in About Douri page
